Discover the science, sensation and skill behind the sport
Join Freediving London for an immersive introduction to the fascinating world of freediving, hosted by guest speaker, record-breaking freediver and coach Gary McGrath.
Gary will take you behind the scenes of his record-breaking 112m dive, sharing video footage and talking through what happens during a deep freedive – from the surface to the bottom and back again.
The talk will also explore what happens to the human body during a breath-hold, including the incredible physiological adaptations that allow us to dive deep on a single breath. To bring this to life, Gary will guide the audience through a short, interactive breath-hold, allowing you to experience some of the sensations associated with breath-holding for yourself.
Whether you’re completely new to freediving or simply curious about what the human body is capable of, this is an opportunity to discover the sport from someone who has spent years pushing its limits.
