Membership

Does membership include access to swimming beyond the pool in Eden Dock? 

Open water swimming sessions in the wider dock will be free for Sea Lanes members. 

How long is each swim session?

A swim session covers a one-hour slot. If the pool is not at full capacity when your session ends, you are welcome to continue swimming. There is no need to book consecutive sessions. Sessions start on the hour, 20 minutes past the hour, and 20 minutes to the hour.

Is membership seasonal?

No. Membership runs all year, as the pool remains open throughout the year.

Pool

What changing facilities will be available?

There will be hot showers and changing spaces for all swimmers, including accessible changing facilities.

Is it family friendly?

Yes the pool is family friendly, but it is designed to be a training pool for lane swimming.

Will the water freeze in winter?

No.

General

How do I get to Sea Lanes Canary Wharf?

Sea Lanes Canary Wharf is located at Eden Dock, accessed via Mackenzie Walk. View map here.
By Tube/Rail
The nearest station is Canary Wharf, served by the Jubilee line, Elizabeth line and Docklands Light Railway. From the station, exit towards Cabot Square and follow Mackenzie Walk east. When the path turns sharply right, continue straight across the footbridge. Once over the bridge, the entrance will be on your right (approximately an 8–10-minute walk).
Alternative Stations
Heron Quays DLR station and South Quay DLR station are both within a short walk.
By Bus
Routes including D3, D7, D8, 135 and 277 serve the Canary Wharf Estate.
By River Boat
Thames Clippers operate regular services to Canary Wharf Pier. The pier is approximately an 8-minute walk from Eden Dock.
By Bike
Cycle routes and bike parking are available across Canary Wharf.

Parking
We encourage public transport where possible. Public parking is available across Canary Wharf, including Canada Place, Cabot Square and Jubilee Place, with accessible parking bays available. Find out more here.

When can I book a swim/sauna session?

Booking will open for Sea Lanes Canary Wharf two weeks before opening on 19 June for members and one week prior for non-members. Download the South Downs Leisure app or book online.

Accessibility

Can staff assist with access into the water?

Yes. Lifeguards and on-site staff are available to assist guests who may need support accessing the pool or dock water.

Are pool hoists available?

Yes. Oxford Dipper hoists are available to support wheelchair users accessing both the pool and the dock water.

Is there accessible access into the pool?

Yes. Ramp access is available into the pool. Some wheelchair users may require assistance entering or exiting the water. Lifeguards will be available to support.

Are the saunas wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The saunas have level thresholds and are wheelchair accessible.

Are there accessible changing rooms and toilets?

Yes. Accessible toilet facilities are available on site, including a dedicated accessible WC and an accessible changing room within the changing facilities building.

Is Sea Lanes Canary Wharf wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Public access to the site is via the south ramp and the main plaza area is level. Step-free routes are available throughout key public areas of the site.

Wider Dock Activities

What happens if I have a NOWCA voucher/credit? 

Sea Lanes will honour valid vouchers and credits from the previous operator. We’re currently shaping the next steps and will share further details soon on how these can be redeemed and what this will look like under the Sea Lanes programme. We look forward to welcoming both existing and new swimmers to the community.

Do I have to be a member to swim or take part in activities in the wider dock? 

You can purchase individual sessions without a membership. 

What activities will Sea Lanes offer within the wider dock? 

Sea Lanes will offer a broad open water programme within Eden Dock, including open swimming, paddleboarding, freediving, surf fit sessions with plans to bring scuba activity during the winter months. We will be sharing more soon.

Will open water swimming in the wider dock still be available? 

Yes. Sea Lanes is excited to build on and develop open water activity within Eden Dock as part of a broader, long-term vision for accessible water-based sport, wellbeing and community programming.
